The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce your success to the community. Together, we can give you recognition for your relocation, new business, expansion or addition by providing a ribbon cutting. The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce has assembled this helpful Ribbon Cutting Planning Guide to make your event planning effortless and enjoyable.

The Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a ribbon cutting for all businesses, member or non-member, as long as you meet the following criteria:

  • Launching a new business or relocating an existing business
  • Significant expansion or remodeling of your business
  • New Management or ownership
  • Celebrating a milestone anniversary (10 year, 25 year, 50 year, etc.)

Non-Member Businesses

The Chamber is happy to host a ribbon cutting for a new business that is not a member of the Kirksville Area Chamber of Commerce.
You will receive:

  • Chamber staff will conduct the ribbon cutting ceremony.
  • Ceremonial scissors and ribbon to use for your ribbon cutting
  • Chamber Staff will take photos of the cut
  • An invitation, via email, will be sent out to our Ambassadors, Board of Directors and media, informing, and inviting them to your ribbon cutting.
  • Framed Certificate to display in your place of business

All photos will be emailed to the contact person to be used at your discretion.

Member Businesses

An invitation, via email, will be sent out to our Ambassadors, Board of Directors and media, informing, and inviting them to your ribbon cutting.

  • Event inclusion on our Community Calendar page and photo will be added to our ribbon cutting photo gallery on our website.
  • Framed Certificate to display in your place of business
  • Chamber staff will conduct the ribbon cutting ceremony.
  • Ceremonial scissors and ribbon to use for your ribbon cutting
  • Chamber Staff will take photos of the cut
  • Press release and photo of the event will be sent to all media contacts

All photos will be emailed to the contact person. It is your responsibility to inform the chamber of attendees in the photo. Once you have identified the attendee’s, the Chamber will then send out a press release, along with the photo.
